TBT and the Environment

Real Bamboo ProductBamboo is becoming increasingly popular as an environmentally friendly solution to hard wood. Because it is a grass, not a tree, is an infinitely renewable crop that reaches harvesting maturity every three to five years.
Planting bamboo crops also prevents soil erosion and helps absorb greenhouse gasses.

Bamboo can be a smart choice for reducing our negative impact on the environment - but only if it is handled properly. A lot of companies treat their bamboo products with adhesives and resins that can give off toxic gasses. Or they sell "composite bamboo" which is really just bamboo and wood sawdust held together with a petroleum-based adhesive. What is the point of having a great green product if you lace it with toxic chemicals that endanger the environment and your health?

Here at TBT we stay true to the idea of green product manufacturing. We use non-toxic adhesives and finishes. Our unique pressure treatment system utilizes a non-toxic boron that is safe for people and pets. We use every possible part of the bamboo we harvest, recycling scraps and sawdust to fuel our kilns. We have even developed packing techniques to minimize waste! Our commitment to maintaining the natural goodness of bamboo is without parallel in the industry.
